September 2020 Newsletter

My Updates

Hey everyone! I want to thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter. I am Ahmed, the 16/yo who probably asks too many questions, which makes sense as I live on curiosity.

This is the start of my journey and I hope you enjoy the ride with me ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

What Happened This Month?

I went through an absolutely crazy transformation. This is the point in time where everything I did started making sense.

  1. Calendar ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

Procrastination, has been a problem for some time. Essentially, because I always had a free calendar, I just did whatever I felt like in the moment. Which looking back, was not a very effective way to get things done.

Having a calendar creates discipline in my life. It gave me a clear idea of what I need to be doing, it removed the clutter, the noise, and anything else that was distracting me from my goal: Becoming a Unicorn Person (someone who impacts billions). The calendar saves time from the small, seemingly insignificant things, which will later compound and make me the helpful, well rounded person I want to be.

Calendars are slowly removing my instant gratification monkey ๐Ÿ™ˆ. Looking at this little guy, it reminds me of how he has always been hiding in the back of mind, controlling me on occasion after another. I am happy to say that this is the month, where I finally managed to overpower him.

  2. Reading ๐Ÿ“š

As a kid, I used to hated reading with a burning passion, all I wanted to do way play around. I remember my sister coming back from a Neuro lecture one time. She was glowing like I have never seen before. She was explaining all the cool things she learned; thatโ€™s the moment when a fire sparked within me. I developed a love for knowledge, I started spending time on my own, learning new things. Some books I read recently include โ€œStop Doing that $#!%โ€ and โ€œThe Good Psychopaths Guide to Success.โ€ The things I have learned from those two books are invaluable to me. I learned different ways of interpreting the world as well as the people around me. It really shifted my ideas and how I felt about these fundamental things.

  3. Joining TKS

Coming into it I thought it was just another S.T.E.M. program, where you get to learn about really cool tech. In reality, it so much more. This program prepares you for the real world. A fundamental philosophy that we all need to understand that being good for your age does not mean anything. Good is being the best in the world.

After performing a task under a very bad time constraint. It would be an understatement to say that I performed badly. Looking at what I thought for the past while, I realize now I was experiencing the Dunning-Kruger effect. Where my perceptions of myself were outside of reality. I believed I had higher level competence than other people. That task humbled made me realize what who I really am: AVERAGE.
